Nail art from a polish-holic currently living in Korea.
Unless otherwise stated, all nails are done by me.

First time using the Glow-In-The-Dark polish! I layered it over another colour as it goes on extremely sheer. Unfortunately I sucked at trying to take a picture of the glow. It was too soft for my phone to pick up.

What are your favorite base coats and top coats in Korea? And, if you use it, nail strengthener? I've tried a few different brands but haven't found any that I've liked.

I’ved tried a lot, and I’ve hated a lot. Despite my absolute love for the FaceShop, I loath both their base and top coats (excluding the special top coats they have, like their shimmer and their matte). For me at the moment though, I use AniPlace’s Chess Nail Base Coat and Etude House’s Jelly Top Coat. I like both the base and top coat from AniPlace, and I had been using that for about a month, but I picked up the Jelly Top Coat last Sunday on a whim (and they had a 30% off sale going on), and I really like it. I do two coats of that top, especially over crackle and stamps because I can still feel the slight ridges after just a single coat. It’d been going quite well; the nude sparkle mani I just posted lasted a good while without chips and just regular wear-and-tear.

As for stregthener, I tend to skip out on it unless it’s necessary. That said, there’s a care polish by the FaceShop that helps fill in cracked/chipped nails so that they’re smooth for colour and stregnthens them with calcium. It’s orange in a silver package as it’s a part of their Face It! Repair Nails (페이스 잇 리페어 네일즈) and it’s “02 칼슘 젤 (Calcium Jell).”

I am obsessed with glitter. This has got to be my favourite mani ever. It’s so simple and cute!

Unf, I love this, even though I was too lazy to fix up the stamp error on the thumb. I did these this past Thursday to be ready for the Wonder Girls’ fansign yesterday, so these also end up as my Wonder Girls nails too I guess. (I had a gigglesquee moment when Lim told me she loved my nails.) The girl’s had some awesome nails though, so I think I’ll recreate some of them.

A coworker gave this set to me as a gift this past Monday. It’s part of Etude House’s summer Miss Tangerine line, which was as the name might make you think, a LOT of bright oranges. While I’m not a fan on orange makeup, orange nails are something completely different! This is a really cute set, so it was nice to experiment with. The manicure there was my test, so excuse how…. not careful I was.

1호: A very peachy pink. It looked a little odd with my skintone, so I didn’t use it for my rough and dirty try.

2호: Light orange sparkle. Very translucent which made it good for blending.

3호: Bright orange sparkle. Same consistancy as 2호, so it made the gradient work well.

For the manicure I used Aniplace’s Ani01호 as a base and added extra shimmer with Sephora by OPI’s Wild About Shimmer.

Another lined mani. This one is a little less sever then the blue one. I really loved how pretty the eclectic stones came together.

Purple is from Aniplace in Ani33호

White is Tony Moly’s Nail Art Polish in White

Silver sparkle is Etude House’s French Nail Art in Silver

Music nails~ This might be my new favourite simple mani. The nude nails with the clean lines of the music is simple and classy. The stones though… I was losing one to three a day. Had to keep sticking them back on every day. I’ll either avoid the stones or use nail glue to keep those suckers on.
Nude colour was two coats of Aniplace Chess Nails in Ani01호 and one coat of Just Tea-sing by OPI
