It’s summer, so I’ve gotta start paying attention to my toes too! I picked these two colours up with this in mind and I love how they turned out! I also topped them with Etude House’s Shine of Time almost-dup! I love how they shimmer!

I was in Etude House over the weekend with a friend, not planning on buying anything and then BAM! What do I see? MAGNETIC POLISH! Even better? Everything was 30% off! I only got the black, blue, and green polishes, but there was a “red” (far more pink to me) and a purple (a hint too close to the black for me to really care for it). The magnet was separate and there is no magnet in the bottle’s lid. They also only have magnets that made stripes, no other patterns.

I did a quick slapdash trial on with the green and I really love the pattern they give. It took me all of 5 minutes to finish both hands which was lovely. I re-did them better last night though, and it took AGES for me to get them all looking alright. But then again, I cared a bit more this time and wanted them to look nicer so that was probably why I had to redo them about 3 times each finger. I also tried vertical lines and that just flat out didn’t work.

All in all, I’d recommend these to anyone who wants a bit of flair to their nails without the hassle of painting art on. Also, even without using the magnet all the colours look AMAZING on the nail. Good formula, as well.

Spring means gingham! This was a nice change from the not-so-spring-ish weather.

What are your favorite base coats and top coats in Korea? And, if you use it, nail strengthener? I've tried a few different brands but haven't found any that I've liked.

I’ved tried a lot, and I’ve hated a lot. Despite my absolute love for the FaceShop, I loath both their base and top coats (excluding the special top coats they have, like their shimmer and their matte). For me at the moment though, I use AniPlace’s Chess Nail Base Coat and Etude House’s Jelly Top Coat. I like both the base and top coat from AniPlace, and I had been using that for about a month, but I picked up the Jelly Top Coat last Sunday on a whim (and they had a 30% off sale going on), and I really like it. I do two coats of that top, especially over crackle and stamps because I can still feel the slight ridges after just a single coat. It’d been going quite well; the nude sparkle mani I just posted lasted a good while without chips and just regular wear-and-tear.

As for stregthener, I tend to skip out on it unless it’s necessary. That said, there’s a care polish by the FaceShop that helps fill in cracked/chipped nails so that they’re smooth for colour and stregnthens them with calcium. It’s orange in a silver package as it’s a part of their Face It! Repair Nails (페이스 잇 리페어 네일즈) and it’s “02 칼슘 젤 (Calcium Jell).”

Etude House’s display of their new sets. The Party Queen ones have a shimmer, a fine glitter, and a chunky glitter polish in each. They look like they would make amazing gradients and layer really well with other polishes. The one on the end has three fine glitters in it. Very cute!

A coworker gave this set to me as a gift this past Monday. It’s part of Etude House’s summer Miss Tangerine line, which was as the name might make you think, a LOT of bright oranges. While I’m not a fan on orange makeup, orange nails are something completely different! This is a really cute set, so it was nice to experiment with. The manicure there was my test, so excuse how…. not careful I was.

1호: A very peachy pink. It looked a little odd with my skintone, so I didn’t use it for my rough and dirty try.

2호: Light orange sparkle. Very translucent which made it good for blending.

3호: Bright orange sparkle. Same consistancy as 2호, so it made the gradient work well.

For the manicure I used Aniplace’s Ani01호 as a base and added extra shimmer with Sephora by OPI’s Wild About Shimmer.

Another lined mani. This one is a little less sever then the blue one. I really loved how pretty the eclectic stones came together.

Purple is from Aniplace in Ani33호
